Wine Spectrum #1 Wine of 2017
Cabernet Sauvignon | Napa | Wine Spectrum 94 points
Now with a year in bottle, the 2013 Fuse presents lovely aromatic complexity and nuance. Sweet tobacco, licorice, mocha, herbs and red plum all flesh out in the glass. This is one of the more approachable 2013 Cabernets readers will come across. There is no shortage of depth or intensity to the plum, black cherry and rose petal notes. The style emphasizes ripeness and raciness. 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% petit Verdot
Signorello Wines was new to us in 2017 and has been an instant hit with our clients. You may have heard that this winery was decimated in the Atlas Peak Firestorm that started on Oct 9th on Napa’s Silverado Trail. Ray Signorello Jr., has vowed to rebuild and Wine Spectrum is proud to show our continued support to this incredible producer. The Signorello Fuse Cabernet knocked our socks off and at $44/b drinks like a much more expensive wine. This vintage will be ending soon, so now is the time to stock up on our 2017 wine of the year!
The FUSE team works with some of our favorite Napa Valley growers, whose cool climate hillside and warmer valley floor vineyards are planted in an array of clones, spacing and exposures. The winemaking takes the old world tradition of blending Cabernet Sauvignon with other Bordeaux grapes and combines it with modern winemaking methods. Each step of the farming and winemaking is undertaken with the great care and attention usually lavished on much higher priced wines.
